Agustin Ceballos

Agustin Ceballos is a tax attorney based in San Diego, California. He works as an international tax attorney at Buchalter. He primarily focuses on providing U.S. tax advice to non-resident aliens who wish to live or invest in the United States. Ceballos also assists clients with pre-immigration tax planning, cross-border tax planning, estate planning for families with assets in multiple jurisdictions, and with international tax reporting and compliance.

Prior to joining Buchalter, Ceballos worked at Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek. Before that, Ceballos worked for firms in Mexico City for nearly a decade. He represented international companies and foreign individuals on worldwide operations to help them reduce global effective tax rates. He also interpreted double-tax treaties and completed tax auditing services.

After graduating from law school, Ceballos moved to Dublin, Ireland, and worked for a year as dean of discipline for an academy that taught Mexican and Spanish children.

Ceballos received his LL.B. with honors in 2003 in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. He later completed his post-graduate studies in taxation law at Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City and earned an LL.M. in international taxation (with distinction) from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where he attended on a Fulbright Scholarship.

Ceballos is a native of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, and speaks English and Spanish. He is admitted to practice law in Mexico and California.
