Hirson earned his law degree in 1967 from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has been licensed to practice law in the state of California for four decades. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. District Court of Appeals for the Eastern, Central and Northern Districts of California.
