Shanker Merchant is an EB-5 broker-dealer. He is currently a managing director for Riverside Management Group (RMG), based in Westport, Connecticut.
Merchant is currently a registered broker dealer with BCW Securities LLC.
RMG, a boutique firm founded in 1996, provides financial advisory services. It also does capital raising and venture investing. It has locations throughout the United States and in Brazil. Merchant has been with the company since 2008.
Merchant has more than 30 years of investment banking and capital markets experience, including private and public equity, strategic advisory, structured debt and equity securities, and international transactions.
Prior to RMG, he worked for Wachovia, Prudential, Citigroup and smaller firms.
Merchant has an MBA from Columbia University. He also has a master’s in physics from Banaras Hindu University in India and a Ph.D. in physics from The City University of New York. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in business from New York University.
Merchant speaks English and Hindi.
