AscendAmerica is a regional center with a focus on investments made in commercial real estate developments in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. These investments are tailored to foreign nationals seeking permanent residency in the United States through the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program.

Developers want partners they trust to protect their interests and lower chances of risk in EB-5 projects. The relationships AscendAmerica has built in the real estate industry throughout the years, bolstered by the company’s reputation for compliance, give real estate professionals confidence in the abilities of AscendAmerica.

Investors choose AscendAmerica for the company’s focus on credit as well as its vast experience in loan structuring, giving them to the tools they need to protect client interests in a dynamic economy. It is AscendAmerica’s consummate goal to provide lower risk EB-5 opportunities for its investors.

Dan Shields, the president and CEO of AscendAmerica, earned his law degree from the Cardozo School of Law and his MBA from the Wharton School of Business. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the real estate finance industry.

Prior to establishing AscendAmerica, Shields was responsible for M&T Bank’s New York City Commercial Real Estate Department, which is a nearly $8 billion loan portfolio which experienced practically no losses or defaults during the 2008-2009 global financial crisis.

Drawing from years of experience in finance, real estate, law and regulatory compliance, Shields created AscendAmerica. His relationships with top tier developers in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut allow him to bring many opportunities to international investors. He is also a Registered Securities Representative and holds Series 79 securities registration. Shields works to ensure all AscendAmerica projects are vetted, well-structured and compliant with legal and regulatory frameworks.

Further, Shields’ understanding of commercial real estate, credit and regulatory compliance allows him to consult effectively on EB-5 strategy. Shields can leverage resources within the EB-5 industry to find foreigners interested in more than “immigration investment” and to potentially reduce the lead-time, which is usually perceived as the major downside of the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program.
