Sandra Perera is a certified public accountant. She is a senior director at Rothbard and Company LLC, a public accounting firm based in Plantation, Florida.
Rothbard and Company, which was founded in 2018, focuses on international tax consulting and compliance. It provides a wide range of services, including tax and estate planning, tax return preparation, IRS and state audit representation.
In her role as senior director, Perera oversees the firm’s corporate tax department outsourcing and international tax services. She has helped many EB-5 investors with pre-immigration tax planning, stepping up tax basis of assets prior to becoming a legal permanent resident of the U.S. (i.e., by accelerating income) as well as working with clients to plan around the start date of their residence in the U.S. She has also assisted many investors with U.S. estate and gift tax planning, including applying the various treaty provisions where applicable. Additionally, she has experience in applying ECI rules and assisting taxpayers in determining if they may be considered engaged in a U.S. trade or business.
Perera previously worked as a tax director at Klein Mendez & Rothbard LLC and PricewaterhouseCoopers, also known as PWC.
Perera earned her master’s degree in taxation and a bachelor’s of business administration degree from Florida International University.
Perera is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as Cuban American Certified Public Accountants Association.
She is fluent in Spanish and English.
