Cecil Bass is a registered migration agent with many years of experience handling cases in Australian immigration law, as well as the industries of investment and real estate. He currently serves as the managing director of Hitchcock and Associates, a firm committed to assisting clients through the Australian immigration process.
Born in South Africa, Bass migrated to Australia in 1998, joining Hitchcock & Associates as a partner in 2000. In 2002, he was appointed as the managing director. With Bass’ professional background in business, he offers legal counsel for clients interested in Australian business visas, including the Business Innovation and Investment visa. Bass is recognized by his peers as one of the top legal representatives in terms of Significant Investor visa applications, having successfully completed many such applications for high net worth individual (HNWI) clients. He also has extensive experience with Resident Return visas and Distinguished Talent visas.
Bass has worked extensively with the local government in South Africa. From 1982 to 1994, he actively served on the Johannesburg City Council, on which he represented the Democratic Alliance Party. Throughout his career, he also held various senior positions within the national and regional structures of the Democratic Alliance Party. From 1990 to 1994, Bass also served on various city council committees, including the management committee, the culture/recreation committee and several others. Between 1990 to 1994, Bass served on The Council at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
Bass writes training material for the Migration Institute of Australia. He also frequently speaks at business migration conferences. He was educated in Johannesburg, South Africa, earning a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1978. He then became qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979.
