When can I marry my EB-5 visa girlfriend?

My girlfriend will hopefully soon get her EB-5 visa – she is at the stage of going for an interview and hopefully ‘checking into’ the US within the next 6-12 months or so. We hope to get married within the next couple of years. We understand that if we get married during her conditional green card phase, I will have to wait 5 years before I can get a green card. But I will not have to wait long if we marry once she gets the permanent green card. Is this correct? Also, what does the USCIS require as proof of the marriage? If we were to get married during her conditional green card period, would I be able to get a work visa as a spouse?

Need more facts to answer. Are you in the U.S. and in status? Have you ever violated that status? Once she is a conditional residence you can be petitioned for under FB-2a but this requires you to be in status for all days in the U.S. or consular process. If in status can adjust and get interim work and travel permits once the Priority Dae for that classification is current.
