We are a family of four and will eventually be going through the Guangzhou consulate once our EB-5 application is approved. What type of questions should we expect during the consulate interview? Will they ask my children different questions then my wife and me? What if one of us does not pass the interview?

Immigration attorneysThey should interview the family together, confirming basic details of your investment and personal information. Please retain immigration counsel to assist you with the preparation.

Immigration attorneysThe questions are usually standard. They will inquire about your personal info, birth certificates of yourself and children, employment history, police records, etc. No one should fail unless someone intentionally tells them something that is not true.

Immigration attorneysYou will be asked about the investment you had made and what the project is all about, what role you will be playing in the business, etc. You also will be asked about how you gathered your funds to invest. Thus, you should obtain the cover letter, EB-5 memorandum, and the source of funds explanation memo that your lawyer prepared and submitted so that you could understand what was presented to the USCIS and explain to the consulate officer. Your wife and children probably will not be asked any questions other than their names, DOB, and their relationship with you.
