I am an Iranian national, yet my family and I migrated to Qatar as a baby soon after the revolution. I applied two years ago through a regional center, but have yet to receive the temporary green card. What should I expect now that the war has been declared? Should I expect more sanctions, restrictions, increased scrutiny, and delays due to my nationality?

EB-5 Immigration attorneysEven before the recent military action, U.S. immigration authorities have taken steps to block nationals of many countries, including Iran, from coming the the U.S. and from obtaining U.S. residency by adjustment of status. These steps include a Department of State visa pause for nationals of 75 countries and a USCIS hold on benefits applications for nationals of 39 countries. Iran is included in both. It is unknown how long these policies will remain in effect. They are being challenged in court. Unfortunately, it is likely that these policies will cause delays for Iranian investors who have applied or will soon apply for a visa or green card.
