What happens to my I-829 extension if I don’t renew the stamp?

I need to renew the stamp I received last year to extend my I-829 petition. However, I am not receiving any responses from USCIS when I attempt to book an appointment. I am located in California, and I am wondering if there is a reason the website is not functioning properly. I have emailed USCIS and even made phone calls, but I have not received any answers. Will this delay on on I am not renewing the stamp is beyond

The Receipt for the I-829 should have extended your evidence of status for 48 months. If you are beyond that then you need to keep contacting USCIS – Try Ask Emma Chatbot and get an appointment for a stamp.

When you call USCIS, please say "infopass", it will bring you to a live agent and you can request an info pass appointment there.

Your I-829 remains pending even if you do not the get extension stamp on time. So does your status. However, you need to carry evidence of your immigration status with you at all times, and without the extension stamp, you will not be able to travel internationally. Try calling USCIS customer service line again and state that you need an infopass appointment. You can also try online chat with “Emma” at USCIS website, sometimes it is faster to get to live person.
