I invested in a regional center project, and as I understand it, the law will protect my investment because I made it before the “grandfathering” deadline of September 30, 2026. Yet I am still in the adjustment of status stage, still a long way from obtaining my permanent green card. If my I-829 is rejected after 2026 because of a project failure, what will happen to my investment?
