We filed our I526E in March 2023 and our I485 concurrently. My i526E was approved in June 2024. However, when I called USCIS customer service about my I485 status, they said my I485 first went to the Nebraska service center, then the National Benefits Center, and then the local field office. Also, in July 2023 before it was transferred to the local field office, the interview waiver was cancelled. What does this mean? I am just a little scared that they haven’t messed up the application and my application has been placed into the EB-2 category instead of EB-5. This is because my wife (who is not the primary applicant) had an approved i140 with a priority date of May 2018.

EB-5 Immigration attorneysIt appears in your case that the file may be going to a local field office because they want to schedule an interview to clear this up. This can take many months. If they were going to waive the interview, it would go to CSC.

EB-5 Immigration attorneysIt's very common to have these multiple transfers. Stay on top of it if outside normal processing time for that local office.
