My I-130, I-131, I-485, and I-765 have all been sent and received as of Nov. 5. But now 10 weeks later I have not received a biometrics appointment yet. What should I do? I have tried calling to check on the status but there is no update.

Immigration AttorneysThis is not unusual; almost everything is backlogged.

Immigration AttorneysBiometrics notices are taking well over 10 weeks to schedule at present.

Immigration AttorneysYou should be happy you received a receipt notice. All joking aside, the process is moving very slowly. Hang tight, it will come eventually.

Immigration AttorneysI would not worry at this time as these are backed up substantially; they won''t forget you. Too soon to worry and inquire.

Immigration AttorneysUnfortunately, they are taking even longer than that in many cases. The USCIS is working through a backlog from months of office closures and is still only working at around 60% capacity (based on recent guidance from them).

Immigration AttorneysIt is possible the USCIS was able to reuse previous biometrics data. Otherwise, if they need your biometrics, they will send you an ASC appointment notice. Just make sure your mailing address is up to date with the USCIS. See https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do

Immigration AttorneysThis is a common issue. The USCIS is experiencing significant delays in issuing receipt notices. Talk to your attorney (or schedule a consultation with an experienced attorney if you don''t have one now) to make sure there is nothing to be concerned about.
