Must I provide biometrics for my I-829 if my I-485 was adjusted?

Do I have to provide biometrics for form I-829 if my I-485 was adjusted? And if I submit my I-829 without biometrics, what would happen?

The biometrics fee is included in the overall filing fee for Form I-829, Petition by Investor to Remove Conditions on Permanent Resident Status. After submitting your application, USCIS will determine whether they can reuse your previously collected biometrics. If your prior biometrics are sufficient, you will receive a notice confirming their reuse. However, if updated biometrics are required, USCIS will send you an appointment notice with the date, time, and location of your biometrics appointment.

Up to USCIS whether new fingerprints are needed for the I-829 – often re-used from prior filing.

Yes, but lately, USCIS has been able to reuse the ones provided before.

USCIS will decide whether to request biometrics; you don’t have any control over this.

After you file I-829, biometrics appointment is schedules within 1-3 months. USCIS sometimes may waive the appointment if they have biometrics on file that are less than 2 years old.
