Is the current U.S. immigration climate affecting EB-5 processing times?

I’m considering the EB-5 visa for investment, but I am unsure about the current immigration situation in the U.S. Could it hinder my application? Given the 2-year waiting period and the average 4 to 8 years to get the green card, would the current political climate in the U.S. affect those times if I were to apply today?

I would not expect the current climate to have an effect on this program. Trump has proposed another program but that would not replace the EB-5 program.

Whether the political climate affects the EB-5's processing time is still uncertain. However, it is likely to have backlog this year or next year if you were born in China or India, that will delay your time to get the immigration visa or green card.
