Is buying Treasury bonds an option to get a U.S. green card?

I am from Iran. Can I buy Treasury bonds for a U.S. green card? Would it be possible to buy U.S. bonds and then liquidate them to apply for the EB-5 visa?

You would still need to show the source of your funds to purchase the bonds.
