How can I work with a non-immigrant EAD while my I-485 is pending?

I am a J-2 visa holder and I am eligible to work in the United States. I currently have a non-immigrant Employment Authorization Document (EAD) card, but I have not yet secured employment. My husband has recently applied for adjustment of status, but we have not received the EAD card associated with the Form I-485 application. Can I accept and work with my current EAD card, which is still valid, based on my non-immigrant status? If not, what options do I have?

Yes, there is not a problem with using any valid EAD NIV or IV.
