How will the visa retrogression affect my case at the NVC?

My I-526 was approved in July 2024, and my case was sent to the National Visa Center for Visa processing in November 2024. I am from India and have filed for the AOS. The final action date was current till April Visa Bulletin; as per the May 2025 Visa Bulletin, it has retrogressed. Will I get the greencard as my case has already been sent for Visa processing for 5-6 months when the final action date was current, or will I have to wait again until the final action date becomes current again?

Your Priority Date must be current in the month your green card is approved.

If your case is already at the NVC you can likely finalize the applications and civil documents - the case will be forwarded to the respective consulate where it will sit until you can be scheduled for an interview.
