An investor can apply for a Cyprus Passport by purchasing government bonds; the maximum amount that an applicant can invest in government bonds is €500.000 and the total investment required to have the right to apply is at least €2.500.000 plus VAT (if any). In order to purchase government bonds, first, we have to check whether bonds are available for purchase or whether we have to wait for the next issuance of bonds. Furthermore, we have to open an account in the stock market and get approval in order to proceed with the purchase. Moreover, given that you invest in government bonds, you must proceed with further investments on residential and/or commercial properties and/or companies shares (total investment incl. government bonds should be €2.500.000 plus VAT [if any]). Please note that at least €500.000 plus VAT (if any) should be invested in a residential property.

Cyprus public bonds are only eligible if you are proceeding with investment option No. 4, which is a combination of investments. Cyprus governmental bonds should not exceed the amount of 500.000 EUR, as per the regulations of the Council of Ministers in relation to the Cyprus Passport Scheme by Investment.

The government bonds are issued directly from the Ministry of Finance for physical persons. A certain application form needs to be completed and procedure to be followed through the Cyprus Stock Exchange (please note that the bonds are not listed).
