My country does not allow dual citizenship – how can I avoid being stateless if my application for a British citizenship is approved?

I am a citizen of Bahrain, which does not recognize dual citizenship. I anticipate the situation might be delicate based on what I have heard from friends who have attempted dual citizenship. How can I apply for another citizenship, like in Britain, while renouncing my home country citizenship properly so that I do not become stateless?

Presumably, you would only lose your Bahraini citizenship once you obtained your British citizenship, so you would not be stateless once you had British citizenship. However, you need Bahraini immigration advice on dual nationality as the UK allows dual citizenship.
