How soon is the Social Security Number issued after the greencard?

We entered the U.S. on September 5th on our newly issued permanent EB-5 visas. It has been over a month now, and we are still waiting for our Social Security Numbers (SSNs) to be issued. Is this normal? How long should we expect the issue and delivery to take?

Sometimes there is a delay in receiving the social security card. You should be getting them to the address you provided to the Embassy. You can also make an appointment to the Social Security administration to have the process go faster. Best of luck.

It usually comes around the same time with the green card. If you have not received it, you can visit Social Security Administration in person after the federal government reopens.

Often comes around the same time but if not just go to the nearest Social Security office with your Permanent Resident card and inquire. (Some SSA offices require an appointment).
