How soon can I apply for the EB-5 visa after getting my H-1B?

I plan to apply for an H-1B visa to secure a job in the US medical technology industry and earn a salary, which I will then use to invest in an EB-5 visa after a few years. But I want to understand how soon after I start working with the H-1B employer can I apply for the EB-5. My plan is to invest in a direct investment in a friend’s medical research business, who is a US citizen.

There is no conflict between H-1B and EB-5. You can apply for EB-5 at any time.

The H-1B status is a "dual intent" status, which means it is fully compatible with EB-5 or any other type of green card category. There is no contradiction between holding an H-1B status and applying for EB-5 green
card status. Note that a Standalone EB-5 will need at least US$800,000 invested funds, and must create two years of 10 full time jobs. This may be a challenge in the medical field due to typical salaries. Make sure to speak with an attorney before committing to a Standalone, as this subcategory of EB-5 comes with its own characteristics and unique responsibilities.
