How would the number of EB-5 investors in a project affect my visa chances?

I am researching EB-5 projects to invest in and apply for my visa. Should I invest in an EB-5 project which will have a lot of other EB-5 investors? How would the number of investors in an EB-5 project affect my visa chances?

This will not affect the chances of approval per se. The important issues to look at and consider in doing your due diligence, among others, are the reputation and business model of a regional center and its project, overall history of I-526 and I-829 approvals, and the job creating methodology.

The number of other EB-5 investors does not affect the chances of an approval. The most important issue will be the job creation methodology used by the project and if there is a "buffer" in the number of jobs created, such that if the job creation (direct or indirect) is short, all the investors can still have their I-829 petitions approved.

The number of investors in a project affects the number of jobs that must be created and whether the regional center''s projection is realistic for I-526 and then, later, I-829 review for approval. For example, if a project that may cost $100 million to renovate a hotel is looking to finance the project entirely with EB-5 investors, the job model presented by a regional center that states they will create 2000 jobs for that project may not pass scrutiny for I-526 approval and your immigrant visa or green card chances will be negatively affected.

Really just look to the merits of the project, hire an attorney to perform "due diligence" on the project, and then make a decision.

Your conditional permanent residency visa will be obtained on the EB-5 project''s required documentation being EB-5-compliant, not on how many investors are in the project.

It is only a factor if there will not be enough jobs created at the I-829 stage. You should inquire how many investors are needed for the project to move forward and then if you are one of the first investors this may be a concern.

The amount of other EB-5 investors should not have any effect on the immigration compliance. Direct EB-5 investments are often made by one and only one investor. We have represented projects looking for 4 investors and those looking for more than 100.

The number of investors is generally not relevant unless it affects the viability of the project.
