NVC has asked me to submit civil documents over email. Is it common to be asked to submit civil documents over email? If yes, does it take longer to get documentary qualified for email submission than the NVC portal cases?

EB-5 Immigration attorneysIt has been my experience that requests for documents to be shared by email come from the Consular Post and not from the NVC. I would question if the email is authentic and check to ensure it is legitimately from the NVC. Generally, document requests are to be uploaded to the portal on the NVC site. If the email came directly from the consular post, and it does appear to be authentic (from state.gov), then you can rely on it or otherwise ask if you should carry originals of documents to your interview.
Case processing time to be considered to be documentarily qualified vary on an individual case basis. There is no exact time frame for a case to be considered documentarily qualified because the burden is on the individual to ensure that they upload their documents to the NVC portal. Again, I haven’t seen such requests be sent from NVC via email so I am concerned that the consular post is emailing you and not the NVC.
