How much should I pay in fees when investing with a regional center?

I contacted an EB-5 project center. They requested to pay an investment of $800,000, a project management fee ($80,000), a lawyer service fee, and others at one time before submitting the I-526 form. Are these fees normal?

Not abnormal. Investment amount varies with location and designation of the Regional Center; Administrative fees for the Regional Centers run from $50,000+ although sometimes you can negotiate down. USCIS filing fee is $11,160, plus attorney fees.

It is typical for an EB-5 investment through a regional center to include various fees in addition to the $800,000 investment, such as administrative or project management fees, which are commonly around 10% of the investment amount. While it is not standard for a regional center to cover an investor's attorney fees, each project has unique financial structures and associated costs. Prospective investors should carefully review the offering documents, ensure transparency in the fee structure, and understand their obligations before proceeding. Additionally, highly reputable regional centers may occasionally negotiate reduced fees or offer adjustments depending on the circumstances. Consulting with an experienced EB-5 immigration attorney can help clarify the reasonableness of the proposed fees.
