How long does an I-485 approval take after the combo card?

I filed an I-140 under EB-1B with premium processing together with an I-485. I received I-140 approval in 3 business days, completed my fingerprints in 3 weeks, and received a combination card within a month. How long will it take for the I-485 to be approved? I am applying for an NIH career development award, with a start date of July 1st.

I-485s can take 6 to 8 months for processing in many cases. Processing times can be checked on the USCIS web site.

By filing the I-485 application, you would have received an Employment Authorization Card, we well as Travel Authorization. You will be able to work for any business or organization. The adjudication of the I-485 Application should only take a few months. You can always make inquiries with the USCIS.

It depends on where your I-485 is filed. Different service centers have different processing times. Currently, the California Service Center is the slowest: they are adjudicating I-485s filed in July 2015. Please check the receipt notice and look at the USCIS processing times.
