My SEVIS was terminated because I was kicked out of school. Can I assume that I’m out of my F-1 immigration status? What happens to my pending temporary residence application with the USCIS (I-485)? What can I do to remain in the U.S.?

EB-5 Immigration attorneysSEVIS termination after you filed a legitimate I-485 that has a valid underlying petition means you should be okay.

EB-5 Immigration attorneysIf your I-485 is on file then you are in a period of stay authorized by the Attorney General (meaning you are legal to remain here while this is pending), but with the SEVIS termination you are no longer in status. So, if the permanent residency is denied for any reason you would need to leave the country to get back in status and return.
