How could the Executive Order on Hong Kong Normalization impact my EB-5 case?

I was born in Hong Kong and submitted my I-526 petition last year. I just saw Trump”s July 14 executive order on Hong Kong Normalization in which he said certain sections in the Immigration Act of 1990 and Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 are now revoked. What does it mean for my application? Is my application now switched over to the mainland China queue, which is 10-12 years long?

It seems that Hong Kong has lost its special quota. It makes no sense how this is supposed to be helping people from Hong Kong.

The new Executive Order (EO) will not affect existing petitions like yours as the EO cannot be retroactively enforced.

It seems that is exactly what it is meant to do. Speak with your attorney. You may be able to sue under improper retroactive application of a new rule.
