How can I work abroad while waiting for my green card?

As an independent contractor, I have been offered a very competitive project in France, which requires me to relocate for three years. As I await the two-year sustainment period with my conditional green card available, can I take this offer? Would my absence affect my EB-5 application in any way?

You need to apply for a reentry permit and should visit at least every 5 months but this is possible with a re-entry permit.

Did you file for I-485 or set up for consular processing?

Your phrase "awaiting the two-year sustainment period" seems to refer to the investment holding period, which runs from when your funds were invested, not necessarily from when you received your green card. Prolonged absence could complicate proving your ongoing U.S. residency intent during this time. It is best to schedule a consultation with an attorney to go over all the details to come to a decision. You can reach us to schedule an appointment.
