How can I update my working experience on my I-130A?

My husband is a green card holder and he submit the I-130 with my I-130A in August. We received the receipt, but I realized I made a mistake on the working experience: I am an F1 student and before I graduate I had an on-campus part-time job from January 2020, which was a developer position. I graduated on June 2020 and I stopped working until the start date of my EAD card in August of 2020. From August 2020, I was working for my college as a volunteer developer. On the I-130A, I filled it in like ”My College Name”, January 2020 to Present, Occupation Developer. I am not sure it is correct to do that, especially the working time and occupation. Should I make some changes before USCIS take any action on my case?

You can try to amend it now by interfiling – sending the amendment without the USCIS requesting additional evidence – or you can wait until an RFE, if any, is issued, or you can wait until the I-130/I-485 adjustment of status interview. Whenever you send anything to the USCIS after an application or petition has been filed, you will want to check where the case is pending, and you will want to reference the receipt number in any correspondence. Send it to the USCIS using a tracking method and keep a copy of what you filed.

You cannot make changes to the filed I-130A. You can do nothing; bring this up at the interview, if it comes up, or withdraw the current petition and start over.

Yes, I would send in a letter with a copy of the I-130 receipt and the corrected I-130A with accurate information.

Did you file the I-485 with your husband''s I-130 and your I-130A? If so, just leave it alone. When you and your husband go to the interview, the officer will make the changes on your application. Or you can do a new form or just the page that needs to be corrected and bring it to the interview. The officer will accept it. The country you are from determines how long you wait to file the I-485. How long has your husband had his green card? If he is eligible for citizenship that makes the process faster. You probably did not file the I-485.

This information does not appear to be material. You can send in a letter requesting an amendment and seek to interfile but be careful, and make sure this was authorized and accurate.

Tell them about it in your interview.
