How can an old medical condition affect an EB-5 application?

I understand that the medical screening process is an essential step in the EB-5 visa. My mother and I have great health, but my father has been diagnosed with Typ 2 diabetes and he underwent heart surgery two years ago. They will be my dependants in my EB-5 applications. Is his previous medical condition going to affect the EB-5 application in any way?

Generally the conditions you cite wouldn’t prevent the civil surgeon from clearing your parents.

Only spouse and minor children can be dependents on your EB-5 case.

For the EB-5 visa, only the investor’s spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21 qualify as dependents. Parents of the investor are not eligible to be included as dependents on an EB-5 visa application.
