How can an EB-5 investor work remotely for a non-U.S. company while in the U.S.?

As a Canadian citizen and EB-5 investor, am I permitted to work remotely for a Canadian company while physically located in the U.S. after crossing the border by car? Would engaging in remote work from the U.S. negatively affect my EB-5 application? What are the rules around this?

Technically this is working without authorization. Once you can file the I-485, you can request a work permit.
