I am concerned about discussions on social media saying that H-1B visas’ “grace periods” are no longer valid. If you get fired, you find yourself being asked to leave the country shortly after the layoff. Some are saying there isn’t even time to apply for an adjustment of status in some cases. I am two years into my H-1B, and so far, I have not faced a situation requiring the use of the “grace period.” However, what happens if I do?
