For how long can I travel outside the U.S. with a pending I-131 form?

I am a permanent resident, I have filed the I-131 form for a re-entry permit and I have already submitted my biometrics. Can I leave the U.S. while the permit is pending? How long can I be out of the U.S.?

Yes you may leave the U.S. and return as needed with your PR card and Receipt for the Reentry Permit.

Yes. I suggest you not leave the U.S. for more than 6 months for each international trip.

You can leave while your reentry permit application is pending. Initial renters permit is usually issued for 2 years, so you need to return before the document expires.

Yes, you can leave the United States while your re-entry permit is pending. Since we do not know if your application will be approved, it is advisable to follow the guidelines for lawful permanent residents.
