How can a person with an expired F-1 visa get an Emergency Advance Parole?

My father is very sick, and I need to go back home ASAP. I am working in the US in F-1 visa status. My F-1 visa stamp has expired and I am no longer a student. My new EAD card is currently in processing with USCIS. Can I get the Emergency Advance Parole to travel outside the US and re-enter without issues?
