How can I use cryptocurrency for my EB-5 visa investment?

Does USCIS accept cryptocurrency as part of my EB-5 investment or source of funds? Do they accept a certain digital currency or does it create a red flag in my application? It would help me transfer the money from my country as well.

Cryptocurrency can be used but you have to document in detail where you got the funds to invest. Then you need to document every transaction or they will reject you.

The whole point of the "source of funds" is to trace the lawful transfers of funds back to their lawful source. Isn''t the point of most crypto is that it''s not really traceable? And its value is wildly volatile.

I would suggest getting transferred to non-cryptocurrency before investing for EB-5 benefit.

Cryptocurrency is fine but they need to be converted into US Dollars before being invested in the project.

They should accept cryptocurrency. You just have to prove it was your money and how you earned the money. Proving it is your money might be a challenge! I don’t know how you can do that.

It’s acceptable to use crypto for both source and transfer of funds. We’ve received approvals for investors in and outside of the US, and it’s especially useful for investors who reside in countries with currency restrictions for obvious reasons. The analysis and supporting documents are unique to crypto, but among other things we need to see the funds you initially used to purchase your crypto, what wallet it was stored in, and etc.
