Will the consulate actively re-open the DS-260 and notice the applicants to update it prior to EB-5 interview?

Some people said if your DS260 was filled a long time ago ( for example, 2 years ago), then the consulate would actively re-open the form a few days before the interview and notice you to update it. Is that correct? And if the consulate does not re-open the form actively, do I have to contact them and ask them to re-open it and update it prior to interview? Or , I do not need to do that, instead I can just wait until interview and tell the officer about the changes(for example the passport) directly at the interview?

Nothing you need to do; the consulate will advise if updated forms are required.

If there is new material information one must ordinarily request permission to update the DS-260. We do advise that it be updated with relevant information.

My understanding is that you have to request that they reopen the form and then you can update it. But perhaps some consular posts do it automatically.
