What should dependents do if the principal EB-5 applicant passes away during the appeal process after visa denial?

My dad was the principal EB-5 investor. Our visa got denied but we applied for a re-appeal. He passed away during the appeal process. What will happen to our case? What should we do as dependents?

Complicated question - was his case denied, is that why it was on appeal?

It seems to me that you are no longer qualified to immigrate if the principal has passed away.

Generally, if the petition has been approved, there is a provision whereby the case can move forward if one of the beneficiaries is resident in the US. However, the general rule is that if the principal applicant passes away before the petition is approved, it is automatically revoked.
