How can an EB-5 investor with a pending I-829 prove that they are authorized to work in the United States?

My EB-5 I-829 has been pending for years, and I have been using the I-551 stamp for a long time for school. Since I have to renew my I-551 stamp every year, how could I prove to my employer (who has never seen this type of stamp before) that I am eligible to work in the U.S. and will not need sponsorship in the future?

Have your employer review the M-274 Employer’s Handbook, which shows that the stamp is a legal basis to work and that you are a permanent resident. If the employer refuses to accept this, it could be the basis for a discrimination complaint.

The I-551 stamp is listed on the I-9 as an acceptable document.

That stamp is all you need for the employer’s I-9 file, so it should not be an issue.
