When should an EB-5 green card holder return to the US with a Form I-131?

I am an EB-5 green card holder and applied for a re-entry permit in September 2022. I went outside of the US after completing my biometrics appointment. My re-entry permit has recently been approved in July 2023 while I was still outside of the US. Do I need to travel back to the US since my 1-year limit is about to expire or is it okay to return by the expiration date of the approved re-entry permit?

You can return to the US after a year abroad so long as you have a valid reentry permit upon arrival.

Normally a reentry permit is good for two years. You need to return before it expires.
