How can EB-5 funds be raised from a U.S. bank?

Can I raise money from a U.S. bank for EB-5? For example, if I want to buy a hotel for $2 million and I put $500,000 down. Would my initial investment be considered and qualify me for EB-5, or would I need to bring in another $300,000?

The minimum EB-5 investment threshold is $800,000 if the investment is in a Targeted Employment Area. The funds can come from the U.S. or abroad - the path and source of funds must be lawful in both cases.

The key is not only making the investment of $800,000 if in a high unemployment or rural area, but you have to create 10 new jobs unless it is a troubled business. A $500,000 investment does not qualify.

The lowest amount is now $800,000. As long as bank loan is secured by other assets and not the project, it is ok.
