How can I determine a TEA location for my EB-5 direct investment?

I will be investing $500k for a franchise in the US. Is there a way that I can determine possible Targeted Employment Areas under current rules? This would help narrow down a physical location for the new business.

Websites (like this one!) have TEA checkers. Each state now has the authority to determine TEA but not every state has gotten back up to speed on that (Florida has not). An economist can help too.

Great question. A useful online tool to find TEAs is at: https://tea.eb5investors.com/

There are numerous TEA maps published by some of the EB-5 stakeholders, but the best way to determine a particular area is to work with a qualified economist who can double check unless the state authorities issue a confirming letter. If the USCIS appeal of the Nov. 2019 regulations is sustained, then we will have to rely on DHS, not the states to determine TEAs.

Under the rules in effect, each state designates these. So you might reach out to the appropriate people in the state(s) where you think you may want to locate.
