Has anyone had experience or has experience with a MBE raising capital through EB5 as a loan instrument? Main concern is if the Minority Business Enterprise Certification will become void if a loan deal is made with a foreign eb5 investor and a US based MBE company.
EB-5 anticipates that you will make a cash investment in a new commercial enterprise and loan models often present issues, especially if the loans are not secured. You have to prove where the investors funds originate. For this reason, a Minority Business Enterprise may succeed, but only where the foreign investor is investing the requisite capital and creating the requisite number of jobs.
There are EB-5 consultants who are familiar with government grants.
