My EB-5 visa, which I filed for in 2019, got approved in Sept. 2022. However, I am still waiting for my travel document, work permits and green card. We filed for the papers in February and never heard back. Do I need to take any extra steps, or just wait? Is it advisable to contact USCIS about this? How long does it usually take?
The work permits are fairly fast, as little as three months after filing. The travel permits are slow and can take 10-12 months.
Work permits (EADs) are being issued in 4-5 months based on a I-526/I-485 application. The advance parole document is taking longer to issue - usually in around 8-10 months.
Look up USCIS Case Processing times for the office where the case is located as the times vary.
You should have received both the EAD and AP by now. Speak with your attorney to contact USCIS.
Assuming you filed for adjustment of status, which includes applications for work permits and travel doc, we are seeing work permits in 3-4 months from filing and travel pass about 5 months later.
The work and travel authorization usually takes between 6-8 months. If you contact USCIS, they are going to tell you that your case is under normal processing times. Nothing you can do about it.
