What can I do if I receive a Request For Evidence (RFE) for a police certificate from my home country and I can not get it before the deadline for my I-526 application?

Show them you have requested it and try and hire a lawyer or other expert in your home country to expedite it. They may give you 12 weeks plus 3 days.

The I-526 will not require a police certificate. This is done at the immigrant visa stage only if processing overseas.

Police certificates have to be provided to the National Visa Center (NVC) as part of consular processing - not at the I-526 stage.
