Can I renew my Indian passport with a pending I-765?

Can I renew my Indian passport immediately after submitting my form I-765 application for employment authorization when my I-765 is still pending with USCIS? I have yet to receive an approval notice. I am on an F-1 visa. Will this delay the processing of my EAD card?

Yes, you can renew your passport. Also, the renewal should not delay the processing of your EAD.

The renewal of your Indian passport has nothing to do with your U.S. immigration matter. You should keep your passport valid at all times until you become a U.S. citizen at least.

A renewal of your Indian passport should not affect or delay your EAD processing. The renewal of your passport is done through the Indian consular office while your I-765 is adjudicated by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

You can renew it; it will not impact the EAD processing.

There is no problem in renewing the passport with the I-765 pending.

No, renewing your Indian passport is unrelated to your pending I-765.
