About Nima Korpivaara
Nima Korpivaara is an immigration attorney and partner at KLD LLP. Attorney Korpivaara handles a variety of EB-5 and immigration-related cases, such as applications for EB-5 investors, and corporate business structure matters. His practice fields include investor (EB-5 and E-2), family and corporate immigration law, and he assists both small and large-scale clients with business visas, short-term and temporary work visas, naturalization, and family-based and employment-based permanent residency.
Prior to joining KLD LLP, Korpivaara was a partner at David Hirson & Partners, LLP.
Recognized nationally as an expert in EB-5 law, Korpivaara has advised a multitude of developers, project principles and regional centers on EB-5 program compliance. As such, he primarily works within the immigration practice at KLD LLP, counseling corporate clients and individual EB-5 investors on the EB-5 program’s USCIS requirements and processes. Previously, Korpivaara managed the EB-5 practice of the law firm, Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP. In addition to counseling a number of expatriate executives on lawful permanent residency and naturalization petition issues, he has also advised on and processed nonimmigrant and immigrant visas in-house for a major information technology company, with his cases including labor certification and extraordinary ability.
Attorney Korpivaara is a member of the American Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He is active in the EB-5 immigration law community, having served as an advanced EB-5 topics seminar panel member, and authoring articles such as “How to Become a Regional Center” and “Direct Investment Private Equity Model” for EB5 Investors Magazine. He was also awarded the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence for his work in bankruptcy and trial advocacy in 2011. Korpivaara is admitted to practice law in California and received his Juris Doctor in 2011 from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law. Prior to this, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Denver.
