What is the process for withdrawing money before the end of the five-year period for the New Zealand Investor 1 visa?

I have read a lot about the program and am beginning to seek help for applying. One question I have not been able to find an answer to is whether I can withdraw money before the end of the investment period. I would like to financially plan for no flexibility if that is the case.

You will need to keep the funds invested in New Zealand during the entire investment period. The investment period is 3 years for the Investor 1 category, 4 years for the Investor 2 category. You can switch between acceptable investments during this period, as long as you keep invested amount at or above the level for which you have claimed points (Investor 2) or NZ$10mln (Investor 1).
