How long should I wait to begin applying for my EB-5 visa?

From all the studying I have been doing, I understand that I need to start applying for your EB-5 visa as soon as I am ready to make the required investment and meet the other obligatory criteria. However, in my case, I face banking and financial limitations that are out of my control and can take months. First, there is a maximum money transfer cap from my bank, which makes it a very slow process, and second, my country has money exchange limitations that allow me a maximum amount of US dollars to leave the country. On top of that, I see the prices for the visa increased, there is much more scrutiny about the legal background of my money, and it’s getting harder and harder to get an EB-5 visa, with so many applications and limited visa quotas. I’d like to know if it’s still the right time to start the process or if the boat already sailed.

You will need to make the complete investment. If you have been able to get enough money out to do this, then you may apply provided you are able to meet all the eligibility requirements.

The correct time to start is now—if you can identify the funds and international exchange rules will delay the transfer, partial finding may be viable.

If EB-5 is your best option, then the sooner you start the process the sooner you’ll finish it.
