How late can an EB-5 investor join a project, either directly or via a regional center?

How late is an investor able to join a project? For example, if an EB-5 construction project has already started, when is the last possible day I can invest funds and still be eligible for a green card?

You can invest in an EB-5 regional center project as long as there are positions available.

EB-5 investors can join/invest in a project after it has started, provided the project still has room to create and attribute 10 jobs based on the new investment; and, in case of regional center investment, the regional center is still looking for investors to join.

It will depend on the project and how many EB-5 investors are needed for that project. If, for example, a project calls for 50 investors, the last possible time to join and apply for the EB-5 case would be if you are the 50th investor for that project. This is true for any project, direct or through a regional center.

It depends on the project since what is most important is whether the investment can create at least 10 jobs once the investment has been made. The fact the construction of a project has started is not conclusive that the project cannot accept you as one of the investors in the project. Advisably, consult with the project developer (which may include a specific regional center) that you are interested in joining.
